شایسته از سال ۲۰۱۴ در ترکیب تیم ملی افغانستان قرار گرفته است و تا حالا بیشتر از 24 بازی ملی را در کارنامه دارد. او تا اکنون 17 گل برای تیم ملی کشور به ثمر رسانده است. فیصل در تیم باشگاهی اش شماره ۱۰ و در تیم ملی شماره ۸ را بر تن می کند. گلی که از روی یک ضربه ایستگاهی به کویت زد زیباترین گل فیصل در تیم ملی می باشد.
بعد از آمدن سرمربی جدید تیم ملی آقای پیتر شگرت، او به عنوان کاپیتان تیم ملی افغانستان نیز انتخاب شده است.
